Women's Soccer Dominates Against Belmont

CAPE GIRARDEAU - Southeast Soccer beats Belmont in their second game of the Labor Day Tournament by a score of 0-8.

Sophomore forward Diana Poovey scored three of the eight goals, two of which were unassisted and the other assisted by Jen Cross and freshman Megan Hejlek. Freshman Lisa Schweppe followed her lead with two goals, one unassisted and the other assisted by Poovey. Sophomore Jen Cross was assisted by junior Erika Todd for one goal of the game. Todd went unassisted for her solo goal and Marla Gianino assisted Heather Reding for the final goal.

Southeast had a total of 38 shots and 8 shots on goal compared to Belmont's two shots all game. Belmont's goalkeeper Ali Young made eight saves and Southeast's goalkeepers Amanda Wrzos and Lauren Fabbro each made one save.

Southeast had complete control of the game playing over 90% of the time in Belmont's territory. One yellow card was issued in game to Southeast's Hejlek.

Southeast travels to Arkansas next week for their next match.
