Southeast Soccer Prepares for their first regular season road trip

Sept. 4, 2002

CAPE GIRARDEAU - Southeast Soccer will travel to the University of Arkansas in Fayetteville for their first away game of the season on Friday. Then they are headed to Springfield, Missouri to face the Southwest Missouri State Bears on Sunday.

The Otahkians are coming off a two game win last weekend beating Indiana State 2-0 and Belmont 8-0. The Otahks have not lost a regular season game since October 7, 2001, when they were defeated by Western Illinois by a score of 1-2.

Arkansas was defeated by Washington State on August 30, by a score of 4-1 and defeated by Portland State 3-2 last Sunday. This will be the first meeting of the Lady Razorbacks and the Otahkians.

However, SMS is coming off a two-win weekend after playing Middle Tennessee 1-0 and Tennessee-Martin 4-0. Southeast last faced Southwest on September 22, 2000 and was defeated by a score of 3-0.

Coach Nelson is confident in her team and is prepared to take vengeance on SMS come Sunday.

Southeast's next home game will be next Sunday against Indiana, following a trip to Arkansas State on Friday.
