Nicole Bussman Named OVC Offensive Player of the Week

Sept. 27, 2006

CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo. - Southeast Missouri State sophomore forward Nicole Bussman (Port Orchard, WA/South Kitsap) was named the Ohio Valley Conference Offensive Player of the Week, the conference announced on Sept. 26. Bussman is the fourth Redhawk soccer player to earn a conference weekly honor, joining junior Blair Schuppan (St. Louis, MO/Nerinx Hall), sophomore Megan McGrath (Hawthorn Woods, IL/Carmel) and freshman Courtney Alexander (Liberty, MO/Liberty).

The 5-7 Bussman scored the game-winning goal on Sept. 24 off a 30-yard shot in the final seconds of Southeast's 1-0 home win over UT Martin to open OVC play.

The Redhawks are back in action at Eastern Illinois for a key OVC contest on Friday Sept. 29 at 3 p.m.
