Southeast will host Memphis

Oct. 7, 2002

CAPE GIRARDEAU - The Southeast Soccer team will host the University of Memphis at 7:00 p.m. on Monday after their 1-0 win against rival Eastern Illinois University on Friday. The Otahkians (7-3-1) will battle against the Lady Tigers (4-5-1) for hopefully another win.

Currently Southeast is having a great season offensively and defensively. Junior Valerie Henderson was unstoppable against EIU, with 8 shots and the game winning goal. Freshman forward Lisa Schweppe leads the Otahkians with 36 shots, four goals and two assists this season. Junior forward Erika Todd, who has 21 shots, five goals and one assist, follows her. Goalkeepers sophomore Amanda Wrzos and freshman Lauren Fabbro have combined efforts in recent games to shutout six teams this season, including Eastern Illinois. Fabbro has 33 saves this season. She is followed by Wrzos with 24.

The battle between Southeast and Memphis will begin at 7:00 p.m. on Monday at Houck Stadium. Admission will be $3.00 for adults and $1.00 for children 6-18 and free for Southeast students.
