Proved to be one of team’s most clutch players during her freshman campaign … one of only five Otahkians who can bat from left side of plate … great defensive player, covers lots of ground in outfield and made several outstanding defensive plays last season … thrives under pressure ... will contend for playing time in crowded outfield.

2001: Drove in game-tying runs with two outs against both Tennessee State (4.13) and Eastern Kentucky (4.21) and winning run in OVC Tournament victory over Tennessee State (5.4) … drove in two runs against Akron at UK Tournament (3.11) … 2-3 with a run against both Ole Miss (3.21) and Saint Louis University (4.18) … committed only one error in the field … 2-3 with the bases loaded on the season … batted .389 with runners in scoring position and .600 with a runner on third and less than two outs.

Prep: Attended El Toro High … played centerfield for coach Jim Daugherty … batted .458 during junior season and .314 during senior season … named All-South Coast League in 1999 and 2000 … won most spirited award … played on national power American Athletics summer ASA team … also participated in cross country.

Personal: Born 4-4-82 … daughter of Clemente and Linda Bonilla … major in undecided … also recruited by Cal. State-Long Beach and Tulsa … loves to snowboard and sing … in high school was president of Marine Biology club and member of Red Cross … favorite athlete is Texas Ranger’s shortstop Alex Rodriguez … brother Clemente is a senior second baseman for the Southeast Missouri baseball team.
