Elizabeth Economon begins her first season as a member of the Redhawks coaching staff.

Economon will work closely with the Redhawks hitters and middle infielders. Additional duties include assisting in recruiting and other office duties.

The St. Louis native, comes to Southeast after spending the last four years in New Mexico. She was the head softball coach at V. Sue Cleveland High School in Rio Rancho for the last two years while also serving as a Physical Education instructor.

From 2006-2008, she was a volunteer assistant softball coach for the University of New Mexico softball team. She worked with infielders and assisted in the defensive scheme of the Lobos.

Prior to joining the Lobos coaching staff, she was an assistant coach and HES instructor at her alma mater, Truman State, for two years.

As a player for Bulldogs, she was a four-year starter and three-time All-American shortstop.

After her collegiate playing career, she played professionally in the Fastpitch X-treme Tour.

She received her Bachelors degree in Exercise Science from Truman State in 2004 and her Masters degree in Health, Physical Education and Recreation from Emporia State in 2007.
