Whitney Howser begins her second season as the primary athletic trainer for the Redhawks softball season. Last season she was the primary trainer for the Redhawks softball team after assisting with the Redhawks football team and women's basketball team. This past fall she was the primary trainer for both the Redhawks men's and women's cross country team. She was instrumental to the success of both teams as they stayed healthy most of the season and recorded their best finishes in the OVC Championships in five seasons. She oversaw all aspects of the athletic training treatment at the OVC Championships and the OVC recognized her for that by saying "it was the best run Championship meet in the history of the OVC Championships." Howser, who is her final year of graduate studies at Southeast Missouri State will graduate in May of 2009 with her Masters. Howser is an avid runner who has competed in numerous half-marathon races including running in the P.F. Chang's Rock 'N Roll Arizona Half Marathon in Phoenix in January.
