Played shortstop in the Fall … one of three Otahkians in her fourth season with Southeast … improved offensive game in the Fall and should be a force this season … will see action as the leadoff hitter because of her on-base ability.

2001: Started 49 of 50 games at third base … had a seven-game hitting streak, third longest on team … was 2-2 with a double in 1-0 victory over Kentucky (3.10) … was 2-3 with two doubles against Tennessee Tech (3.31) … had a team-high two sacrifice hits against Ole Miss (3.21)

2000: Played in 38 games … finished season with a .281 batting average … had 16 singles and two doubles in only 57 at-bats … posted a .885 fielding average in 130 chances and ranked third on the team in turned double plays with four.

1999: Played in 35 games while starting seven of them … struggled at the plate in batting only .045 … scored 10 runs … one of four Otahkian team members to post a perfect 1.000 fielding percentage … turned two double plays and recorded 16 put-outs in 25 attempts.

Prep: Attended Glenbard North High … team finished third place at Illinois State Championships … All-Conference and all-district performer … all-area second team senior season … also participated in basketball and softball … all-conference basketball performer … four-time Academic all-conference in both basketball and softball.

Personal: Born 5-6-80 … daughter of Cheryl DeBello … majoring in athletic training … two-time Southeast Scholar Athlete … 2001 NFCA All-American Scholar Athlete … biggest sports thrill at Southeast was winning first OVC championship … named to 2000-01 OVC Commissioner’s Honor Roll.
