Softball Sweeps Evansville

Cape Girardeau, Mo. - The Southeast Missouri State softball team has won four straight and 13 of its last 15 after sweeping Evanville on Wednesday. The Redhawks won 4-2 and 10-1.

The Rehawks won the opener 4-2 with catcher Lyndsey Webb getting things started with a two-run double in the second inning. Lindsay Pickering who was 2-3 in the game added an RBI double in the fourth inning with Lauren Bradley driving in the final run.

Elaine Fisher went five innings to earn her seventh win of the season. Fisher, 7-6, allowed four hits and no runs while strking out eight.

Stephanie Huffman led the way in game two with a home run and three RBI's while going the distance on the mound. She allowed just three hits and one run.

The Rehawks also had multiple hit games Michelle Summers (2-4), Charlene Ramirez (2-3), Lindsay Pickering (2-3) and Amber Peterson (2-3).

The Redhawks, who are 17-9 overall and 5-1 in the Ohio Valley Conference return to league play this weekend hosting Morehead State on Saturday and Sunday.
