Southeast Softball has Rough Day

CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo. - The Southeast Missouri State softball team (6-17, 2-1) lost two games today to the Missouri Tigers (21-13). Southeast played host to the Tigers today at 3 p.m. at the Southeast Softball Complex.

The Otahkians had a rough time trying to defeat the Tigers. The Otahkians couldn't get a single hit off of Missouri pitcher Samantha Fleeman. The Tigers won in the 5th with a score of 9-0 including three homeruns by the Tigers. In the second game senior Alicia Loucks got the first hit of the day for Southeast after she bunted for a single base. Later junior Marie Coode and senior Brooke Nett made hits as well but the Tigers still won 9-0 after seven innings.

The Otahkians will be on the road this weekend as they travel to Austin Peay for a three-game series. The Otahkians and the Lady Govs will play a doubleheader on Saturday starting at 2 p.m. and a single game at 1 p.m. at Clarksville, Tenn.
