CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo. - Junior third baseman Michelle Summers (Glendale, Calif./Hoover) went 3-for-3 with a double, a home run and two RBI as Southeast Missouri State handed host Morehead State (21-32, 7-19) a 4-1 defeat this afternoon at University Field. It was the regular season finale for both teams.

Summers broke a scoreless tie in the third inning with a solo home run to left center off Eagles' starting pitcher Alex Gjevre to give the visitors a 1-0 lead. Sophomore catcher Amber Peterson's (Camarillo, Calif./Oaks Christian) solo homer in the fourth inning increased Southeast's lead at 2-0.

The Redhawks scored again in the top of the sixth on a solo homer to left field from sophomore first baseman Lauren Bradley (Overland Park, Kan./Shawnee Mission South) to claim a 3-0 lead. Morehead State got its lone run in the bottom of the sixth on a solo home run from junior Korey Ellis to right field off Southeast starting pitcher Elaine Fisher (St. Peters, Mo./Francis Howell North).

Southeast concluded the scoring in the seventh inning after Summers bought home senior left fielder Stephanie Mata (Wheeling, Ill./Wheeling HS) with a double to left center.
