CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo. - (Thursday, February 16, 2006) The Redhawks softball team will have to wait another week to open their much anticipated 2006 season as the have announced the cancellation of the Tennessee-Martin Softball Hospitality House Classic that they were scheduled to play in this weekend in Martin, Tennessee due to the chances of inclement winter weather. The five games that the Redhawks were scheduled to play in will not be rescheduled at this time.

The Redhawks will now look ahead to the Mississippi State Invitational next weekend. The Redhawks will travel to Starkville, Mississippi, where they will play six games in three days at the competitive tournament. First game will be against Alcorn State on Friday, February 24 at 10:00 a.m.
