CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo. (Friday, February 27, 2009) – Due to inclement weather expected to hit Memphis, Tennessee and the surrounding areas Head Coach Lana Richmond and Redhawks softball team has elected not to participate in this weekend’s third annual Blues City Classic on the campus of the University of Memphis. Evansville and Belmont University join the Redhawks as teams that have elected to cancel their games at the tournament, which will continue but under a different format with three teams playing.

No games are currently planned at this time to replace the ones lost from this weekend. The Redhawks will hit the field again on Wednesday, March 4 when they travel to Carbondale, Illinois to take on No. 19 SIU Carbondale. First pitch is set for 2:00 p.m.
