Torrential Rain Cancels Redhawks Softball Game Against Salukis

CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo. - (Tuesday, March 18, 2008) The Redhawks softball team's scheduled game against nonconference regional rival Southern Illinois University at Carbondale set for this afternoon has been cancelled due to heavy rain and thunderstorms that has hit the local area. The storms are expected to continue all day.

The team's will not reschedule their annual match-up this season but will continue the ongoing series next year with the Redhawks (10-14, 0-3 OVC) returning back to Charlotte West Stadium.

The Redhawks will resume Ohio Valley Conference play this weekend as they continue their current stretch of 12-straight road games as they head to Cookeville, Tennessee to face Tennessee Tech for a three-game series March 21-22. The teams will kick-off play with a twinbill on Saturday starting at 1:00 p.m. before concluding the series with a single game on Sunday at 1:00 p.m.
