Cape Girardeau, Mo. - With nearly 50 former Southeast Missouri State University softball players scheduled to be on hand, the red hot Redhawks softball team hosts Morehead State on Saturday and Sunday.

The action begins at 1 p.m. each day with the alumni guests to be introduced between games of the twin bill on Saturday. Alumni who have indicated they will attend include players from Coach Lana Richmond's first team in 1982-83, representatives from the 1986 team that won 40 games, from the 1991 Division II Final Four team, the 1996 team that won its first 32 games, the 1999 NCAA Division I Regional team and representatives from five OVC championship teams.

"The response to our Softball Alumni Weekend has been outstanding," Richmond said. "It will be great to visit with the former players. We plan a social and dinner at the Port Cape Yacht Club from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Saturday. The Tiffany Christopher Band will play beginning at 9 p.m. with the public invited to attend."

The current Redhawks team has won four straight games and 13 of its last 15 games. They are 17-9 overall and 5-1 and in second place in the OVC.

Morehead State is 10-20 overall and 1-7 in the OVC.
