Softball and Baseball in Rain Delays
May 1, 2004 Cape Girardeau, Mo. - With continuous heavy rain pounding Cape Girardeau since yesterday, the weather is making it difficult for the Southeast Missouri State's softball and baseball teams to get in their scheduled doubleheaders with Eastern Kentucky, originally slated for 1:00 p.m. today. Softball start time has been delayed until 6:00 p.m. thus evening if the weather cooperates. The squad will only play one game this evening, while the second game will be moved to tommorrow, Sunday, May 2. The now doubleheader is tentatively set to kick-off tomorrow at noon at the Southeast Softball Complex. Prior to the game the seniors will be honored for their achievements over their careers. Baseball on the other hand, has not set a tentative start time for today's games. At 4:00 p.m. the coaches and umpires are set to meet at the field to discuss the status of the games. Therefore, the Indians and the Colonels will not square-off before 4:00 p.m. today at the earliest.
