RICHMOND, Ky. - Southeast Missouri State junior second baseman Brooke Nett was named to the 2002 Ohio Valley Conference Softball All-Tournament team on Sunday after her weekend performance.

The junior from Troy, Mo., hit .375 (3-8) at the plate, including a double and an RBI in Southeast's three games in the event. Nett also slugged .500 and had a perfect 1.000 fielding percentage in the field while battling injuries all weekend long.

Of the 12 squad members, nine were from either Eastern Kentucky (5) or Tennessee Tech (4). Southeast, Eastern Illinois and UT-Martin each placed one person on the team.

Southeast won its opening round game against #4 Austin Peay before falling to #1 seed Eastern Kentucky and #3 seed Tennessee-Martin to be eliminated from the tournament. The host Colonels, losers to Tennessee Tech on Saturday afternoon, came back strong on Sunday, winning three games, including defeating the Golden Eaglettes twice (7-4 in the championship game) to claim their first ever OVC Tournament Championship. This season also marked EKU's first ever regular season title in 10 seasons, as well.

EKU ace Jonelle Csora, who no-hit Southeast on Friday afternoon, was named the tournament's MVP.
