2004 Season Outlook: Heading into her fourth and final season as a member of the Southeast Missouri State tennis team, Ehlke is certainly a team leader for the other six members of the team, the majority of whom are quite young with two sophomore players and three freshmen players.

2003: Had an impressive season in singles with an overall record of 6-8 and an OVC record of 4-5. Ehlke saw time in the No. 3 and the No. 4 singles play.

2002: Won an impressive eight of 11 matches in singles and three of six in doubles ... teamed up with Lara Golike winning one of three double matches.

2001: Surprise player of the season ... finished 7-8 in singles competition and 2-13 in doubles play ... competed mainly as number six player but adapted well when moved to other positions.

Prep: played for three seasons while attending Shelbyville High ... coached by Andy Chalewski ... was the team captain of the women's squad ... received Most Dedicated award in 1999 and 2000 ... had the most singles wins of any player in 2000 and most doubles wins of any player in 1999 ... was also a member of the track and field team.

Personal: Born 12-24-82 ... daughter of Robert and Judy Ehlke ... sister Kira started playing one year before Ehlke's playing career began ... will be earning a degree in Health Management this spring ... started playing tennis with her sister at age 14 ... playing tennis with Kira was fun for her and knowing that she would not get much playing time on the junior varsity volleyball team her sophomore year, Kay decided to join the squad at Shelbyville High ... biggest tennis influence is her sister Kira ... has received the U.S. Army Reserve Student-Athlete Scholar award ... 2001-02 OVC Medal of Honor winner for posting a 4.0 G.P.A., which was the highest among all OVC tennis players ... also named to OVC Commissioners Honor Roll ... favorite pro athlete is Andre Agassi ... an avid sports fan, she especailly enjoys following NCAA men's basketball and tennis ... enjoys running in her spare time ... favorite foods to eat are peanut butter and moose tracks ice cream ... been known to mix the two together ... favorite musical artists include christian rock acts Michael W. Smith and the band Mercy Me ... very active in her church youth group ... favorite channels and programs to watch on television include TVland, Nick at Night and the Food Network.
