A silent leader on the court ... only other senior on the team. Will be looked upon to lead young team, along with fellow senior Kay Ehlke. Leads by example...she has plenty of experience and talent to dominate the OVC ... is working hard each practice to be more aggressive and end points quicker.

2003: Posted a 4-10 singles record while competing mainly in the No. 1 spot. Teamed up with Andrea Aldana for a 3-6 overall and 2-4 in the OVC in the No. 1 doubles play. Finished with an overall record of 4-9 in doubles play.

2002: Came away with a 4-15 singles record and a 4-14 doubles record ... teamed with Bland posting a 1-7 record in the OVC.

2001: Played at Indiana State ... did not see much playing time.

Prep: Attended S.S.C.C. Recoleta in Lima ... competed for both the track team and soccer team ... did not play prep tennis ... competed as amateur in Peru and was ranked as number four singles and number three doubles player for her age group in 1999.

Personal: Born 7-21-82 ... daughter of Marco Garcia and Violeta Leon ... majoring in Fine Arts at Southeast ... has two younger sisters, Christina and Giannina, who are also tennis players and enjoys playing against them ... favorite athletes are tennis professionals Pete Sampras and Monica Seles ... favorite food category is Peruvian ... favorite musical artists are the band Aerosmith and singer Madonna ... favorite sport to play and watch outside of tennis is soccer.
