NASHVILLE, Tenn. - The Southeast Missouri State Otahkian tennis team defeated Tennessee State 7-0 on Friday for their first Ohio Valley Conference victory in two seasons.

Southeast (2-7, 1-1 OVC) was victorious in all six singles matches, all of which were completed in the minimum two sets, and all three doubles matches.

The victory is Southeast's second of the Spring season and first complete sweep. Last season, Southeast dropped all seven OVC matches and failed to make the OVC Tournament. With the victory, they are almost assured a birth in the tournament, unless TSU (0-6, 0-1 OVC) wins two more matches this season.

The Otahkians will be back in action next week when they travel to Kansas City to compete in the UMKC tournament. Southeast will face Creighton, host UMKC, and Southern Utah.
