CHARLESTON, Ill. - Southeast Missouri (2-14, 1-7) ended its season with a 5-2 loss to Eastern Illinois (6-10, 2-6) Sunday afternoon in Charleston, Ill.

The Redhawks were led by Nikole Novikova and Elizabeth Nyenwe, who were victorious in No. 1 and No. 2 singles, respectively. Novikova defeated Janelle Prisner, 6-3, 0-6 (11-9) and Nyenwe took care of Cara Huck, 6-4, 6-2. Nyenwe finished her rookie campaign with a team-high nine singles victories and posted a 7-1 mark in league play.

Southeast had two matches retired due to injury. Those bouts took place at the No. 6 singles and No. 3 doubles spots.

The Redhawks ended their season at 2-14 overall and 1-7 in the Ohio Valley Conference.
