LITTLE ROCK, Ark. - Southeast dropped two matches on Thursday to non-conference opponents, Arkansas-Little Rock (12-11) and Louisiana-Monroe (8-11). In both matches, the athletes only competed in singles play, due to time constraints at Burns Park Tennis Complex.

In singles action against the Trojans, only the first four Redhawks played in the match. Starting in No. 1 and No. 2 singles, Bryce Kristal and Julia Masotti fell to Laetitia Bourgeon and Anne Weijenborg by identical scores of 3-6 and 1-6. Following in No. 3 action, Drew Kristal won one more game in her match before going down to Marta Gomez Jordana, 3-6, 2-6. Finishing up in No. 4 singles, Elise Nattier was unable to come up with any games as she lost 0-6, 0-6 to Patricia Cortes.

Against the Warhawks, all six singles matches were played, but the Redhawks still fell short, 1-5. Earning the lone point for the Redhawks, B. Kristal notched the close 7-5, 6-4 victory over Noelia Leon in No. 1 competition. Masotti followed in the No. 2 spot, but succumbed to Lena Satge, 1-6, 2-6. In the No. 3 slot, D. Kristal kept it close in the first set with Ana Burjaili but also lost by a score of 5-7, 1-6. Nattier picked up three games in No. 4 singles against Marion Lehmann, but finally was defeated 2-6, 1-6.

Rounding out the lineup in No. 5 and No. 6 action, Alyce Kelly and Taylor Orahood dropped their matches to Sharon Makhanya and Claire Clark by scores of 0-6, 1-6 and 0-6, 0-6.

Southeast will return to action this weekend with two Ohio Valley Conference matches starting tomorrow as they travel to take on Tennessee-Martin at 2 p.m. Then on Sunday, SEMO will go up against Eastern Illinois at 2 p.m. to wrap up the season.
