Final Stats

COOKEVILLE, Tenn. - The Southeast Missouri Tennis Otahkians completed their regular season schedule with a 7-0 loss to Tennessee Tech on Saturday. Their contest that was scheduled for Sunday afternoon against Morehead State was rained out and will not be rescheduled.

Tennessee Tech, who might be the number one seed in the OVC Tournament, dominated the singles, winning each contest in straight sets. Sophomore Kay Ehlke came to closest to a set victory, falling 7-5 in her second set. Newcomer Heather Nichols, who joined the team Friday as a walk-on, made her debut for Southeast, falling in the number six singles position.

Daniela Garcia and Adrienne Bland were the closest team to a point for Southeast in doubles, before falling 8-6 to Tech's Ana Maria Cibils and Karmelina Rivera.

Southeast closes the regular season with a 2-14 overall record, 1-4 in the Ohio Valley Conference.

The Otahkians will start OVC Tournament play next Friday in Nashville. Southeast should be the #8 seed and will face the OVC's #1 seed, still to be determined by a vote of league coaches this week.
