Southeast Tennis is Set to Challenge Bradley University

March 5, 2003

CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo. - The Southeast Missouri State University tennis team (0-2) will travel this weekend to Peoria, Illinois. The Otahkians will challenge the Braves at 3 p.m. on Saturday, March 8.

The Otahkians record is 0-2 after two tough losses to Arkansas-Little Rock and Arkansas State. The Otahkians are in the process of building up their team to an OVC contender and look to improve immensely this season. The team continues to practice hard and improve daily while keeping a positive mind.

The Braves are entering the match with a 2-4 record. Bradley University is a member of the Missouri Valley Conference in which they are currently ranked ninth of 10 teams.

" Bradley is a very good team," said coach Mike Stevens. Even though they may be near the bottom of the Missouri Valley conference they have an experienced team and they play in a strong conference. Coach Sattler has done a nice job with their program. They play a very difficult schedule, as do we, and this should be an exciting, competitive match.

Come cheer on the Otahkians at their home opener against Tennessee State. The match is set for 2 p.m. on March 12 at the Southeast tennis courts across from the Southeast Softball Complex.
