About Southeast:After a month and a half without any matches, the Southeast Missouri State Otahkian tennis team gets back into the swing of things by travelling to Murray State to open Ohio Valley Conference competition on Wednesday.

Southeast is looking for a hot start to OVC matches, as last year the Otahkians struggled to an 0-7 overall mark for 2001 and failed to make the OVC Tournament.

In their only two matches of the 2002 Spring season, Southeast lost to better teams in Saint Louis University and Missouri. The only team member to record a victory was sophomore Kay Ehlke in the #6 position in the lineup. Ehlke was a strong competitor in 2001 and Southeast and Head Coach Donna Ryan will look to her for big contributions once again this season.

Murray State holds a 5-4 record going into a meet with Samford University on Tuesday. The Racers defeated Saint Louis U. 4-2 on March 2nd and last bested Western Kentucky 7-0 on Sunday.
