Southeast Missouri (1-7, 0-1 OVC) vs. Tennessee State (0-5, 0-0 OVC)
March 29, 2002, 2:00 p.m.
Nashville, Tenn.

A depleted Southeast Missouri tennis team is back to conference action after spending a week in beautiful Hilton Head, S.C. Having only five active members making the trip, the team posted a 1-4 overall record.

The lone victory came against Fairleigh-Dickinson, a squad the Otahkians also bested in Hilton Head in 2001. Having already defaulted one singles point and a double match for not having a sixth player, the team responded strongly, and won both other doubles matches to claim the double's point of the match. And with singles tied 2-2 in the other four matches, sophomore Andrea Aldana came through with a three set victory in her match to push Southeast to its first victory this season.

Statistically, sophomore Kay Ehlke leads the Otahkians with a 4-4 overall record in singles competition. She is 3-4 in the number five position in the lineup and 0-1 in the number six position.

The road does not getting any easier for Southeast soon, literally. The Otahks, who have only one home match this Spring, will travel to Kansas City next weekend and then play two more road conference matches before hosting their first meet on April 11.
