Tennis Heads to Tennessee For Two Weekend Matches

CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo. - Southeast Missouri State tennis travels to Nashville and Cookeville, Tenn. for two duals this weekend against IPFW and Tennessee Tech. The Redhawks (9-8, 3-3 OVC) are coming off a 7-0 defeat at Murray State Thursday.

Southeast is expected to use its standard 2007 lineup. Bryce Kristal (Pleasanton, Calif./Foothill) plays No. 1 singles. Her twin sister, Drew Kristal (Pleasanton, Calif./Foothill) follows her in the No. 2 spot. Senior Luz Garcia (Bogota, Colombia/Troy) competes from the No. 3 line. Julia Masotti (Moji-Mirim, São Paulo, Brazil/Colegio Integral Aplicado) plays in the No. 4 slot. Elise Nattier (Flora, Ill./Flora) and Kimmy Anderson (Jackson, Mo./Jackson) round out the lineup in No. 5 and No. 6 singles action.

In doubles, the Kristal sisters form the No. 1 tandem. Masotti and Nattier compete as the No. 2 duo with seniors Garcia and Anderson making up the No. 3 pairing.

First serve for Saturday's match against IFPW is slated for 8 a.m. in Nashville, Tenn. The Mastodons are 8-8 heading into their Friday match against Lipscomb. Sunday the Redhawks travel to Cookeville, Tenn. to play OVC foe Tennessee Tech at 2 p.m. Tech is 2-12 overall and 2-2 in the OVC thus far.
