The Southeast Missouri State Otahkian tennis team will open Ohio Valley Conference Tournament play on Friday when they battle number one seed Tennessee Tech in Nashville. Tech completed a perfect 7-0 regular season and enters the tournament as the number one seed, while Southeast enters as the number eight seed.

The two teams closed out the regular season by facing each other Saturday in Cookeville. Tech proved why they are the best OVC team in that match, sweeping the Otahkians on route to a 7-0 victory.

Following the Tennessee Tech match, Southeast will face either #4 seed Morehead State or #5 seed Eastern Kentucky on Saturday morning in either the winners or losers bracket. If Southeast wins, they will play at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday. If they lose, they will play at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday.

Southeast is back in the OVC Tournament for the first time since 2000. Last season, Southeast failed to make the OVC Tournament after finishing the season 0-7 in the OVC.
