CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo. - Fresh off a pair of challenging tournaments, the Southeast Missouri State tennis squad will battle Harding University in a dual meet on Thursday. The match is scheduled for a 1:30 p.m. start at the Southeast Tennis Complex located on the corner of Sprigg and Bertling.

Once again this season Southeast will have a very young squad, as they have only one upperclassman amongst seven team members. Two newcomers, Tyla Wells and Daniela Garcia, are currently playing the number one and two positions in the lineup for Southeast.

Last weekend, Southeast took its lumps at the Evansville Purple Aces Classic that featured some of the best teams from the Midwest. But Coach Donna Ryan thinks the teams is making strides each and every week.

"We just need to keep playing to get more experiences and the improvement will come," Ryan said.

After this match, Southeast will have one more Fall meet, as they host UMKC and Bradley on October 27 and 28th in a triangular meet.
