In his second year at the Southeast Missouri State Sports Information department is Patrick Clark. The native of Fairview Heights, Illinois is no stranger to the Southeast athletic program however as he competed against Southeast collegiately as a football player at his alma mater, Southern Illinois University at Carbondale.

Clark comes to Southeast after spending the past year in Connecticut. He was a research coordinator for college football and women's college basketball at ESPN in Bristol, CT. His responsibilities included the research and development of story ideas on ESPN's Emmy award-winning College Gameday program. He then moved on to the Connecticut Army National Guard, where he served as a public affairs official.

Clark, who is in his 12th year as a member of the US Army National Guard, also served as a journalist for The Connecticut Guardian, one of the top Army publications in the country. He is currently serving as a truck driver for the 1344th Transportation Company in East St. Louis, Illinois for the Illinois National Guard. Clark has reached the rank of sergeant in the Army and recently recieved the Army Achivement Medal for his actions as a squad leader during combat training in Fort McCoy, Wisconsin this past summer.

Clark's previous experience includes serving as a Media Relations Associate at the University of Missouri. At Missouri he served as the wrestling contact and swimming and diving contact for both nationally ranked teams. He served as the media director for the 2003 Big 12 Wrestling Championships. His 2002-03 Swimming and Diving media guide was voted as one of the top guides in region.

Before Missouri, Clark started his sports information career as a student assistant at SIU. He served as the primary contact for both the men's and women's swimming and diving teams. He organized and oversaw the 2002 Missouri Valley Conference Swimming and Diving Championships. He also assisted in all aspects of Salukis men's basketball teams' run to the "Sweet 16".

At Southeast Clark will oversee all aspects of media coverage and event management for Southeast's' women's volleyball, women's basketball, women's gymnastics, women's tennis, softball and baseball.

An amateur photographer, he has seen many of his photographs published in various publications including SLAM magazine.

A 2001 graduate of Southern Illinois University at Carbondale, Clark was a three-time letter winner in football for the Salukis as a defensive back. He has a bachelor's degree in mass communications and plans to complete his master's in sports administration.
