Jeremiah Larsen begins his second season as an assistant with the Redhawks volleyball program. Larsen's duties include working with the teams middle blockers and the team defensive schemes. Other duties include serving as the recruiting coordinator and various administrative duties. "We are very fortunate to have Jeremiah's technical background in the gym," says Coach Nowacki. "We saw major improvements in our team blocking and credit goes to him. He is a very driven coach and takes pride in his responsibilities as recruiting coordinator." Before coming to Cape Girardeau he was a volunteer assistant coach at Utah Valley State College in Orem, Utah. Prior to UVSC, Larsen served three seasons as head coach at Brighton High School in Sandy, Utah, where he guided them to a 2006 Utah 5A state championship and a No. 9 national ranking by Prep Volleyball.com with a 30-1 record and earned Utah Coach of the Year honors from the Salt Lake Tribune. In addition, he coached at the Summit Volleyball Club for three years, helping them to a 2006 national ranking of No. 15 by PrepVolleyball.com. Larsen competed for four seasons and lettered two years as a setter/libero at Brigham Young University, where he was a member of the 2001 NCAA Division I and Mountain Pacific Sports Federation (MPSF) championship teams. Larsen received his undergraduate degree in Sociology at BYU in 2004. Larsen and his wife Casie are the proud parents of a beautiful one-year old boy Brock. |
