Season Outlook: Will be the starting setter and continue to set the bar for setters accross the league. Will be a team captain and look to direct a young offensive squad.

At Southeast

2002: Was the team leader in assists for the third consecutive season coming just two shy of her own personal record with 1,451 on the year ... was a first team All-Conference selection and a member of the All-Tournament team ... also named honorable mention All-South region ... was the OVC Player of the week twice on 9-9 and 9-21 ... led the conference in assists once again and helped the Otahks to the top assist mark in the conference ... had 15 double-doubles on the season ... has 4,121 career assists, third all-time and needs just 882 for second and 1,285 for first overall at Southeast.

2001: Was the team leader in assists for the second-straight season. Her total of 1,217 combined with her 1,453 from her freshmen season, moves her to 2,670 total assists, just 310 shy of third place overall and Amy Henken. Finished the season with a 11.70 assists per game average and was the best server on the team with 44 service aces for a .42 per game average. Had a season-high six aces against Tennessee-Tech (10.12.01). Also netted 223 digs for a 2.14 per game average. Had seven double-doubles on the season and the only triple-double on the team last season when she had 10 kills, 42 assists, and 10 digs against Tennessee-Martin (10.19.01).

2000: Named the OVC’s Rookie of the Year...also selected to the 2000 All-OVC Newcomer team...a member of the 2000 OVC All-Tournament Team...led the team and league with 14.11 assists per game, that total was good enough to finish 13th in the nation...selected OVC Freshman of the Week four times over the season...finished fifth on the team with 2.36 digs per game...recorded eight matches with double figures in assists and digs...notched four service aces on two occassions, first against Saint Louis (9.2.00) and then vs. Southern Illinois (9.26.00)...defended the nets a season-best four times vs. Murray State (10.21.00)...hit .278 vs. Stephen F. Austin...was just eight assists shy of the SEMO record with 80 against North Carolina in NCAA first round win.

Prep Career: Graduated from Belleville Althoff in 2000…Belleville News Democrat Player of the Year in 1999…named Belleville Journal Player of the Year in 1999…All-Metro in 1999…named to the All-Tournament team at the Illinois state volleyball tournament by Chicago Tribune…also played softball and basketball…selected All-Area in basketball…selected for first team honors by the Belleville Journal…All-Area for softball…member of National Honor Society.

Scannell Superlatives: Born 12.25.81…Daughter of Keith and Roberta Scannell…an elementary education major at Southeast…lists chinese food as her favorite food…lists Britney Spears as her favorite female singer…also recruited by Southern Illinois and Missouri Baptist…lists her fifth grade volleyball coach, who taught her how to set and gave her confidence, as her biggest athletic influence.
