Redhawks' Volleyball Sweeps Morehead

CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo. - (September 30, 2005) The Redhawks' volleyball team showed no ill effects from last night's disappointing loss to Eastern Kentucky, as they swept Morehead State this afternoon in three straight games. The Redhawks who won 30-22, 30-26, 30-26, held the Eagles to a .076 attack percentage for the match.

The Redhawks were led by Jill Miller (15 digs), Jessica Koeper (12 kills), and Lauren Scannell (18 digs), in a match that only took one hour and twenty-six minutes to play. The Redhawks now are 6-9 on the season and move to 3-1 in the OVC.

Morehead State was led by Ashley Doscher, who finished with a double-double (21 kills, 17 digs) on the afternoon. With today's loss, Morehead falls to 5-13 on the season and 1-3 in the OVC.

Southeast will be on the road this next week, as they travel to Charleston, Ill., to face Eastern Illinois, on Tuesday, October 4. The match will begin at 7 p.m. The Redhawks next home match will be on October 14, as they host the Racers of Murray State. The first serve is set for 7 p.m. at Houck Field House.
