CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo. - (Friday, October 14, 2005) The Redhawks volleyball team broke out the brooms and swept the visiting Murray State Lady Racers in three games (30-23, 30-24, 30-24). The win snapped the Redhawks three-match losing streak and two-match Ohio Valley Conference losing streak.

The match was all Redhawks (7-12, 4-3 OVC) from the get go as they showed plenty athleticism and teamwork as the Racers (3-11, 1-6 OVC) had no answer to the Redhawk offensive onslaught.

Joining Koeper with a double-double was Jill Miller (Muncie, IN/Muncie Central) who finished with 10 kills and 14 digs for seventh double-double of the season.

Sophomore Brenna Schlader (Columbia, MO/Hickman) added 10 kills and freshman Katrina Niemeyer (Germantown, IL/Mater Dei) hit .533 on eight kills.

Lauren Scannell (Belleville, IL/Southwestern Illinois College) extended her streak of double-digit dig matches to 23 with a 10 dig night.

The Lady Racers were led by Alison Mugler who finished with a double-double of her own. She tied Koeper with a match-high 13 kills and finished with a team-high 14 digs.
