Redhawks Drop 3-1 Decision At Morehead State

MOREHEAD, Ky. - Five players tallied double-digit kills as Morehead State posted a 3-1 win over visiting Southeast Missouri State in an Ohio Valley Conference volleyball contest this afternoon at Weatherby Gym. The Eagles improved their season record to 18-8 (12-3), while the Redhawks, who saw their season-best eight-match win streak snapped, fell to 16-11 (11-5) on the year.

Sophomore right side hitter Karleigh DeLong (Corona, Calif./Santiago) produced a double-double of 16 kills and 15 digs to lead Southeast, while sophomore setter Sarah Barth (Germantown, Ill./Central) added a double-double of her own with 45 assists and 11 digs.

Junior outside hitter Aubrey Dondlinger (Palos Heights, Ill./Parkland CC) contributed 12 kills and 12 digs, freshman outside hitter Claire Keaton (St. Louis, Mo./Incarnate Word) posted 11 digs and senior middle blocker Brenna Schlader (Columbia, Mo./Hickman) tallied seven block assists. Sophomore libero Molly Davis (Muncie, Ind./Burris) produced a team-best 28 digs for the Redhawks.

Morehead State was paced by double-doubles from juniors Ashley Doscher (18 kills, 20 digs), Erin Peak (11 kills, 11 digs) and Katelyn Barbour (64 assists, 19 digs). Sophomore Amber Campbell added 16 kills with a match-best nine blocks, senior Kelsey Cronin produced 16 kills, freshman Kaitlin Craven posted 10 kills and sophomore Kristina Schoo contributed a match-high 37 digs.

The Eagles posted match advantages over Southeast in kills (77-59), assists (71-50), blocks (14.5-12), service aces (8-4) and digs (108-89).

The Redhawks return to Houck Fieldhouse next weekend for a pair of OVC contests, beginning Friday, Nov. 2 against Jacksonville State with a start time of 7 p.m.
