CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. - (Saturday, October 29, 2005) The Redhawks volleyball team snapped their two-match losing streak with a convincing 3-1 (28-30, 30-27, 30-21, 30-27) road victory over conference foe Austin Peay at the Dunn Center in Clarksville, Tennessee Saturday afternoon. After losing back-to-back five-game matches the Redhawks recorded an attack percentage of .294 and 98 digs, each total being second-best marks of the season. The Redhawks (12-14, 8-4 OVC) dropped the first game 30-28 as they had an attack percentage of .167. Junior Jessica Koeper (Jackson, MO/Jackson) led the offense with a match-high 24 kills. The 24 kills matched her season-high and it was her fourth 20+ kill match of the season. She also recorded 14 digs for her team-high 15th double-double of the season. Jill Miller (Muncie, IN/Muncie Central) recorded her fifth-straight double-double with 14 kills and 19 digs. It was her 12th double-double of the season. She did not record a single attack error as she finished with an attack percentage of .467.
Middle blocker Brenna Schlader (Columbia, MO/Hickman) finished with 16 kills for her third-straight double-digit kill match. She had an attack percentage of .345. Junior setter Jamie Baumstark (Hermann, MO/Hermann) finished with a match-high 57 assists. Her fifth-straight 50+ assist match and her sixth such match of the season. Brittany Hastings (Wichita, KS/Circle H.S.) finished with 13 kills. Her fourth double-digit kill match of the season. Freshman Alyssa Aston (Franklin, TN/Franklin) took advantage of the most playing time she has seen this season finishing with a career-high 12 digs. The Lady Govs (8-17, 4-8 OVC) were led by Laura Wussow who finished with 22 kills. Kelsey McNally finished with a team-high 52 assists and tied teammate Leanne Kreps for the team lead with 18 digs. The Redhawks held the Lady Govs to an attack percentage of .200. The Redhawks return home to host four-straight home matches to end the regular season.
