Though the Redhawks lost, they secured fifth place in the Ohio Valley Conference standings and assured the program their 18th-straight OVC Tournament berth. The first set was closely fought as the Redhawks (12-13, 10-7 OVC) and Lady Govs (20-10, 12-5 OVC) traded the lead once and settled on seven ties in the early going.
