Redhawks Close Long Road Swing At Eastern Illinois

Sept. 18, 2007

CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo. - Southeast Missouri State volleyball looks to close a long road swing on a good note tonight as it travels to Eastern Illinois for a key Ohio Valley Conference match at Lantz Arena with a start time of 7 p.m.

The Redhawks enter the week with a 4-7 record that includes a 1-1 mark in conference play. Last weekend, Southeast produced a pair of five-game splits in Tennessee with a loss at Tennessee State and a win at Tennessee Tech. Junior outside hitter Aubrey Dondlinger leads Southeast with 126 kills (3.07 kpg), while sophomore libero Molly Davis has notched a team-best 203 digs (4.61 dpg) on the year.

Eastern Illinois brings a 7-4 overall record and an 0-2 OVC mark into tonight's showdown. The Panthers began their conference slate last weekend with road losses to Tennessee Tech (3-1) and Tennessee State (3-2). EIU are led by senior outside hitter Eliza Zwettler's 167 kills (3.63 kpg) and sophomore middle blocker Amy Sesol's 27 blocks (eight solo, 19 assisted - 0.63 bpg).

Following tonight's match, Southeast opens a five-match homestand at Houck Fieldhouse beginning Friday with an OVC contest against Murray State at 7 p.m.
