This Week
Southeast Missouri State volleyball looks to conclude its five-match homestand on a good note with three matches this week at Houck Fieldhouse. The Redhawks battle Memphis in a non-conference showdown on Wednesday night with the first serve set for 7 p.m. Southeast returns to Ohio Valley Conference play this weekend with contests Friday night against Morehead State at 7 p.m. and Saturday afternoon versus Eastern Kentucky at 2 p.m.

Scouting The Redhawks
Southeast enters the week with a season record of 6-8 that includes 3-2 mark in the OVC standings. The Redhawks opened their homestand last weekend with a 3-0 loss to Murray State, but rebounded to defeat Tennessee-Martin, 3-0. Junior outside hitter Aubrey Dondlinger currently leads Southeast with 168 kills (3.36 kpg) and sophomore setter Sarah Barth has produced a team-best 493 assists (10.06 apg). Senior middle blocker Brenna Schlader is the team leader with 50 blocks (nine solo, 45 assisted - 0.98 bpg) and 18 service aces (0.33 sapg), while sophomore libero Molly Davis has amassed a team-leading 271 digs (4.93 dpg).

Scouting The Tigers
Memphis sports a 12-5 season record heading into Wednesday's contest against the Redhawks and holds a 2-1 ledger versus Conference USA teams. The Tigers produced a 1-1 mark last weekend after winning at UTEP by a 3-0 margin, but dropped a 3-1 decision to Tulane at home. Senior middle blocker Shelby Burton has produced a team-best 252 kills (4.27 kpg), 88 blocks (15 solo, 73 assisted - 1.49 bpg), 24 service aces (0.41 sapg) and a .455 hitting percentage, while junior setter Laura Côté has paced Memphis' offense with a 12.78 assist-per-game average. Redshirt freshman Christine Bach currently leads the Tigers with a team-high 197 digs (3.94 dpg). Carrie Yerty has posted a record of 222-167 in 11-plus seasons as Memphis' head coach that included a 27-8 mark last season.

Series History
Memphis holds a 9-2 lifetime advantage in the all-time series with Southeast. The Redhawks posted a 3-0 win over the Tigers in the teams' first meeting in three years at the Tiger Invitational in Memphis. Prior to that match, Memphis handed Southeast a 3-1 loss at Houck Fieldhouse during the 2003 season.

Scouting The Eagles
Morehead State enters the weekend with a record of 10-5 that includes a perfect 4-0 mark against the OVC and is currently on a five-match winning streak. The Eagles, winners of six of the last seven contests, posted a pair of 3-0 wins over Tennessee State and Tennessee Tech at home last weekend. Junior middle blocker Erin Peak leads Morehead with 192 kills (3.62 kpg) and sophomore middle blocker Amber Campbell holds a team-high 49 blocks (13 solo, 36 assisted - 0.92 bpg). Junior setter Katelyn Barbour has tallied a team-best 633 assists (11.94 apg), while sophomore libero Kristina Schoo leads the Eagles with 228 digs (4.30 dpg) and 26 service aces (0.49 sapg). Morehead State is led by Jaime Gordon, who has amassed a record of 67-75 in four-plus seasons with the Eagles.

Series History
The Redhawks lead the all-time series with Morehead State by a 23-9 advantage. Both teams have split the last eight meetings since 2001, but Southeast has produced a 3-1 record at Houck Fieldhouse during that span. This year will be the first time since 2002 that Southeast and Morehead will face each other twice. The Eagles posted a 3-0 victory over the Redhawks last season in Morehead, Ky.

Scouting The Colonels
Eastern Kentucky brings a 1-13 season ledger into Friday's match at Eastern Illinois, which includes a 0-4 record versus OVC teams. The Colonels have dropped nine straight matches after losing to Tennessee Tech (3-2) and Tennessee State (3-0) last weekend at home. EKU is led by junior middle blocker Amanda Wilson's 160 kills (3.33 kpg) and 34 blocks (15 solo, 19 assisted - 0.71 bpg). Freshman setter Kate Hendle has amassed a team-best 282 assists (9.10 apg) and junior middle blocker Bridget Mustard leads the Colonels with 18 service aces (0.38 sapg). Senior libero Brittany Nobilio, the OVC's all-time digs leader, has recorded a team-leading 209 digs (5.65 dpg) on the year for EKU. Lori Duncan has produced a 136-150 record in 10 seasons as head coach for the Colonels.

Series History
Southeast holds a 25-5 lifetime advantage in the all-time series with Eastern Kentucky. The Redhawks have claimed six of the last nine meetings with the Colonels since 2001 which includes a 3-1 mark at Houck Fieldhouse. Last season, Southeast snapped a three-match losing skid to EKU by producing a 3-0 victory in Richmond, Ky. Like the Morehead series, this season will be the first that both teams will face each other twice in the regular season since the 2002 campaign.

Up Next
The Redhawks hit the road next week for a couple of midweek OVC matches beginning Oct. 2 at Murray State with a start time of 7 p.m. Southeast then closes the short road trip at Austin Peay on Oct. 4 starting at 7 p.m.
