Volleyball Travels to Tennessee-Martin in Final Regular Season Road Tilt

Nov. 7, 2007

CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo. - Southeast Missouri State volleyball begins the final week of the regular season on the road tonight as it heads to Tennessee-Martin for a key Ohio Valley Conference contest at Skyhawk Arena with the first serve set for 7 p.m. The match will be shown live on the internet at

The Redhawks enter tonight's match with an 18-11 season record and ranks second in the OVC with a 13-5 conference ledger. Last weekend, Southeast claimed a 3-2 victory over Jacksonville State and a 3-1 win over Samford at home. Sophomore right side hitter Karleigh DeLong (Corona, Calif./Santiago) currently leads the Redhawks with 389 kills (3.78 kpg) and 27 service aces (0.26 sapg) on the year. She also ranks second on the team in digs (352 - 3.42 dpg) and blocks (78; 10 solo, 68 assisted - 0.76 bpg). Sophomore libero Molly Davis (Muncie, Ind./Burris) has produced a team-best 562 digs to rank second on Southeast's single-season digs list.

Tennessee-Martin heads into the week sporting a 10-19 record and has notched a 4-13 mark against conference opponents. The Skyhawks suffered a pair of three-game losses on the road to OVC-leading Morehead State and Eastern Kentucky last weekend thus eliminating them from contention for the OVC Tournament. Senior middle blocker Kathryn Sprague is the team's leader in kills with 312 (2.89 kpg) and blocks with 135 (20 solo, 115 assisted - 1.25 bpg). Senior Shelby Knose has tallied a team-best 587 assists (6.91 apg) and fellow classmate Anna Gautreau has recorded 567 digs (5.25 dpg) for the Skyhawks.

The Redhawks will close the regular season at home Friday night with an OVC battle against Austin Peay with a start time of 7 p.m.
