Koeper Named All-OVC Second Team

CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo. - (Thursday, November 18, 2004) The Ohio Valley Conference released their 2004 All-Ohio Valley Conference Volleyball Team selections as voted by the OVC head coaches with Southeast represented on the second team by sophomore outside hitter Jessica Koeper (Jackson, MO/Jackson). This is Koeper's first selection. Koeper is tied for fourth in the conference in kills at 3.91 per game, which leads the team. She has totaled 387 kills this season on 1,176 total attacks for a .189 hitting percentage. She leads the team in double-doubles with 16 this season. She has recorded six games of 20 or more kills, including a career-high 26 kills in the season's final match against Tennessee-Martin. Koeper has reached double figures in kills in all but seven matches this season. Not only was she the top offensive force for Southeast, but also was one of the team's defensive standouts averaging 3.57 digs per game. She has recorded three games of 20 or more digs including two games with a career-high 22 digs. Koeper has reached double figures in digs in all but eight matches this season. She recorded her first 20 kill/20 dig match of the season against Morehead State on November 6. Erica Gerth (Eastern Illinois) was named OVC Player of the Year. Brittany Nobilio (Eastern Kentucky) was named Defensive Player of the Year. Maren Crabtree (Eastern Illinois) was named Freshman of the Year and Eastern Kentucky's Lori Duncan was named Coach of the Year. 2004 All-Ohio Valley Conference Volleyball Teams
